I’m Darren, the driving force behind Freedom Discos, Sound and Lighting. With nearly three decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I take pride in delivering a truly personalised service, managing every event from your initial enquiry right through to your final encore.

 

My career began entertaining audiences in holiday parks and hotels, and has since grown to include work with cabaret and theatre productions, as well as appearances on stage in pantomime.  Over the years, I’ve taken on many roles including DJ, host, entertainer, stage manager, and sound and lighting technician, often performing several of these roles simultaneously.

 

A standout moment in my career was the honour of performing in the presence of the late HRH Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip.  I’ve also had the privilege of working with a number of big names and well known performers, including my childhood favourites, Cannon and Ball.

 

My commitment to excellence is reflected in accolades such as being named TWIA Highly Commended Wedding DJ of the Year 2025, along with an outstanding Trustpilot rating, built on the experiences of many happy clients.
